what we do with your details

This page explains what Smart Paper Craft collects when you use smartpapercraft.net or write to the studio, why we collect it, and what we never do with it. Written plainly because privacy policies should be readable.

Who we are

The short version: we collect what an order needs, keep it as long as the law requires, and delete it when we're done.

What we collect

Only what a transaction needs:

  • Contact details — name, email, phone when you submit a form or call us
  • Order details — delivery address, order contents, payment confirmation (we never see full card numbers)
  • Engraving text — names, dates and messages you ask us to cut
  • Newsletter email — if you subscribe to Margin Notes

Why we collect it

To make and post your order, answer your messages, and send the newsletter you asked for. That's the complete list. We don't profile you, we don't run ad pixels, and we don't buy data about anyone.

Who sees your data

Three parties, all functional:

  • Australia Post — your name and address, to deliver parcels
  • Payment processor — to take payment (card details stay with them)
  • Our email provider — for form notifications and the newsletter

We never sell, rent or trade customer information. Not to marketers, not to 'partners', not ever.

How long we keep it

Order records stay for the legally required period under Australian tax law (7 years). Enquiry emails that don't become orders are deleted within 12 months. Newsletter data lives until you unsubscribe — one click, no exit interview.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you at any time — email smartpapercraft@gmail.com and we'll action it within 30 days. Australian residents have rights under the Privacy Act 1988; overseas customers get the same treatment as a matter of policy. For cookies specifically, see the cookie policy.

How we maintain this

Kept like our
other paperwork

Reviewed every January. Each document gets a read-through once a year — the date at the top is the honest last-pass date, not a launch-day leftover.
Plain English first. We write the version a customer would actually read, then check it covers what it has to. If a sentence needs a law degree, it gets rewritten.
Changes flagged up top. If something material changes, the updated-date moves and the difference is noted in the first section — never buried in clause 14(b).

Smart Paper Craft Pty Ltd is three people in Parrearra. These documents were written by us — if a clause ever seems unclear, you can literally call the person who wrote it.

No. Never have, never will. Our customer list is how we run a workshop — not an asset to flog.

Yes — email us and we remove what we can within 30 days. Records the tax office requires us to keep (invoices, order history) stay for their legal period.

We never see or store your card number — payments are processed by our payment provider over their encrypted systems. Phone orders are keyed directly and never written down.
