Calligraphy workshops
at a real workbench
Three-hour hands-on classes in our Parrearra studio — pointed pen, broad edge and brush lettering for beginners and improvers. Max 8 seats, all tools included, from $95.
Learn it properly, once
YouTube can show you strokes. It can't correct your grip, adjust your paper angle or notice you're pressing too hard — which is where nine out of ten beginners go wrong. A three-hour class fixes in one afternoon what months of solo practice can't.
Classes run Saturdays in the studio's back room. Everything's supplied: nibs, holders, two ink colours and proper practice paper you take home with your exemplar sheets.
- Max 8 students — everyone gets hands-on correction
- All tools and paper included in the price
- Beginner and intermediate levels, monthly private slots
- Take-home exemplar sheets and a starter guide

What a class looks like
Three hours, structured but relaxed. Here's the shape of a Saturday session.
Settle in
Tea, name tags, a look at finished pieces. Nobody's handwriting gets judged — we're all here because ours needs work.
Tools of the trade
Holders, nibs, ink behaviour, paper angle — the 20 minutes that saves you a year of bad habits.
Core strokes
Pressure drills and basic forms. Sarah walks the room constantly — this is the part a screen can't do.
Letterforms
Your first real letters, built stroke by stroke from the drills you just did.
A small project
A card or short phrase on good paper — something finished enough to keep.
Next steps
A starter kit rundown (the honest $60 version), practice sheets and how to keep going at home.
