Fountain pens are mechanical objects — feeds clog, sacs perish, tines drift out of alignment with daily knocks. A yearly service costs $45 and prevents the $140 restoration.

We're the workshop other Australian pen shops recommend for the fiddly stuff — seized pistons, broken feeds, celluloid that can't take heat. If we can't fix it safely, we'll say who can.

Book the service

Tell us the pen model and symptoms. We confirm price and queue position straight away.

Step 02

Post or drop off

Tracked post to Parrearra or hand it over at the bench. Receipt confirmed same day.

Step 03

Strip and inspect

Full disassembly and a proper look — sometimes a 'service' reveals a crack that changes the quote. You hear first.

Step 04

The work

Cleaning, parts, tuning or grinding per the approved scope.

Step 05

Test and polish

Write test on three papers, final polish, before/after photos for your records.

More questions? The contact form reaches us within the hour on workdays.

Daily writers: yearly. Occasional users: every two to three years, or whenever flow gets lazy. Pens left inked for months are the usual culprits — see our cleaning guide for the home routine.

Dramatically — that's the point. We send test sheets of each grind style first if you're unsure, and the grind is reversible on steel nibs if you hate it.

Ballpoints and rollers get mechanism and refill work — simpler jobs, usually $30–$40. Mechanical pencils too, though parts availability varies.

Celluloid, hard rubber and old plastics get handled with period-appropriate methods — no heat, no modern solvents. We insure incoming parcels and document condition on arrival.

Only fitted — we don't ship loose nibs, feeds or sacs. It's a liability thing and an honesty thing: most 'replacement parts' jobs need bench tools anyway.
