Cookie Policy —
the small files we use

What cookies and local storage smartpapercraft.net uses, what each one does, and how to switch them off. Spoiler: there aren't many, and none of them follow you around the internet.

What cookies are (30 seconds)

Cookies and local storage are small bits of data your browser keeps for a site — used to remember preferences and, in our case, whether you've already seen the cookie banner. They're not programs and can't do anything to your device.

Two harmless storage entries and a visit counter — that's the whole cookie jar.

What this site actually uses

Three things, all boring:

  • spc-cookie-ok — remembers you dismissed the cookie banner (localStorage, no expiry)
  • spc-book — remembers which service you clicked 'commission' on, to prefill the contact form (session storage, gone when the tab closes)
  • Basic visit counting — an aggregate pageview counter; no profiles, no cross-site tracking

What we don't use

No advertising cookies, no social media trackers, no fingerprinting, no third-party analytics profiles. If that ever changes, this page changes first — and the banner comes back to ask you properly.

Third-party embeds

The Google Maps embed on the contacts page may set Google's own cookies when loaded — that's between your browser and Google, and their policies apply to it. Block third-party cookies in your browser if you'd rather it didn't happen.

Managing cookies

Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking all cookies won't break this site; the only things that stop working are the banner dismissal memory and the form prefill.

Questions and updates

Cookie questions go to smartpapercraft@gmail.com. If we add a new cookie type, this page is updated first and the date above reflects the change. For the wider data picture see the privacy policy.

How we maintain this

Kept like our
other paperwork

Reviewed every January. Each document gets a read-through once a year — the date at the top is the honest last-pass date, not a launch-day leftover.
Plain English first. We write the version a customer would actually read, then check it covers what it has to. If a sentence needs a law degree, it gets rewritten.
Changes flagged up top. If something material changes, the updated-date moves and the difference is noted in the first section — never buried in clause 14(b).
Real people, real address

A small company,
not a faceless brand

Smart Paper Craft Pty Ltd is three people in Parrearra. These documents were written by us — if a clause ever seems unclear, you can literally call the person who wrote it.

If we wouldn't sign it ourselves, it doesn't go on the website. That's the whole review process.

Quick answers

Common questions

No — the site works fine with cookies blocked. The banner just keeps showing because it can't remember your choice, which is mildly ironic.

No — we count pageviews in aggregate, no profiles. It tells us which pages get read, not who read them.

Because the dismissal is stored in a cookie — clear your site data or block storage and the banner forgets you said yes. It only lives on the homepage, so it stays out of your way elsewhere.
